Gilbert House
Barbican . The Brief

The owner of a type 39, low rise, two bedroom corner flat was looking for specific bathroom renovations including:

one
To make a contemporary shower room out of a badly renovated bathroom space

two
The addition of a second wc and vanity unit.

three
The use of only top range products.

The Result

To achieve the brief, we first needed to consult with a Barbican plumber and the estate office to ascertain whether it was possible to connect through existing toilet and service void to adapt soil stack to take a second connection.

A suspended ceiling was then installed to accommodate John Cullen Waterlily downlights.

We sourced some attractive large tiles with a horizontal random line from Saloni Tiles. My clients wanted to accent these with a small panel of jewel like mosaics at the end of the shower enclosure.

They chose Dornbracht shower products with a large rectangular ceiling mounted shower head and a custom glass screen.

To tone with the tiles, we commissioned a bespoke vanitory unit with surface mounted basin and mirror cupboard above. A contemporary heated towel rail and Duravit wall hung WC completed the room.
