Fortius Clinic
The Brief

This new sports injury clinic, just off Manchester Square, had been operating just over a year but was finding that in busy periods there was insufficient seating in the reception and waiting rooms. They decided to convert the main first floor consulting room into a waiting room.

The main elements of the brief were to:

Reflect a gentleman’s club with a touch of luxury.

Create ample seating to accommodate top players and their entourage.

Lighten and enliven the room. The original designer had used darkwood flooring and fittings with mid green upholstery that was rather oppressive. I wanted to make the space more inspirational.

The Result

I selected some luxurious Zinc upholstery materials: for two studded sofas, a rich aubergine velvet, and for the armchairs a silky linear fabric in two toning colours. The colour choice was carefully orchestrated to reflect their corporate colours whilst creating the atmosphere of a select gentleman's club.

To lighten the floor, I sourced a cream bound carpet that harmonised with the original curtains and installed a selection of dark marble topped coffee and lamp tables in contrasting shapes.
